In the dynamic world of business, the journey from an 18-year-old high school graduate to the founder of the number one growth spirits brand in the world is nothing short of extraordinary. This is the story of Adam Kroener, the founder of Carbliss, a revolutionary low-carb, low-sugar, and low-calorie alcoholic beverage that is reshaping the market.

From High School to the Battlefield

Adam's journey began in high school, where his path took a dramatic turn when he discovered he was going to be a father during his senior year. "Right before my junior year, I found out I was going to have a daughter my senior year of high school," he recalls. He joined the army, graduated high school, and soon found himself in Iraq. Upon his return, the US economy crashed, and Adam had to work general labor jobs to support his family. Despite these challenges, he worked his way up to become a director overseeing a large organization of 1,000 people.

The Birth of an Idea

The idea for Carbliss was born out of a personal need. "Back in 2018, seltzers in my area became very popular. My wife and I were doing keto, so that seemed to fit what we were doing from a diet perspective," Adam explains. However, the available options were disappointing—too much carbonation and not enough flavor. Determined to find a better solution, Adam created a vodka lemonade that met his dietary needs and tasted great.

"I wanted it conveniently in a can. I figured somebody else already made it, went out and bought about $500 worth of product, and ended up finding that they were all the same," he shares. This frustration led Adam to ask why people drank those drinks, and the answer was clear: low carb, low sugar, low calorie. Adam saw an opportunity to create a product that combined the convenience and wellness trends with the premium taste of a handcrafted cocktail.

Building the Brand

Adam and his wife spent a year formulating their product before launching Carbliss in their home state of Wisconsin. They faced significant financial challenges, funding the business themselves initially. "I worked full-time for the first year and a half to kind of fund the losses of the business," he says. The turning point came when an angel investor saw potential in Carbliss and invested $1 million, allowing Adam to focus on the business full-time.

From there, Carbliss experienced explosive growth. "From 2021 to 2023, we saw 7400% growth, which is where we got the recognition for the number one growth in the Midwest," Adam proudly notes. The company's success is not just about the product but also about the strategy.

"Narrow and deep is always better than far and wide," Adam explains, emphasizing the importance of saturating a market before expanding to the next.

Lessons in Leadership and Resilience

Adam's military experience and personal tragedies have profoundly shaped his leadership style. The death of his best friend, Stefan Nicholas Fiedler, in 2016 was a turning point. "In 2016, my best friend died. He died in about three days. I did the woe is me. And realized this was a good opportunity to finally start feeding myself my own freaking medicine," Adam reflects. This loss inspired him to honor his friend's memory by naming the business SN Food and Beverage, with Carbliss as its flagship brand.

Adam's leadership is also guided by a philosophy of continual learning and openness. "I have realized over the years that it is so important to be generally curious always, and tie that with trust, but verify," he states. This approach has helped him build a strong team and foster a culture of innovation and resilience within Carbliss.

The Path Ahead

Looking to the future, Adam envisions Carbliss becoming a billion-dollar sales company within the next few years. Despite numerous offers from venture capitalists, he remains focused on sustainable growth and maintaining the integrity of the brand. "We wanted to maintain the integrity of the business and make the decisions," Adam asserts.
